Rubi Rose Benton was born on the 2nd of October, 1997 in Lexington, Kentucky, where she was also raised, by Nardos Ghebrelul her mother, who is who is an Eritrean dentist immigrant from Ethiopia and John Benton, her father who is a lawyer with Japanese, African American and European descent. Her father was an adoptive child. She has an older sister named Scarlette and an older sister named Coral. 2] She was baptised as an Orthodox Christian as a child. (better source needed) She spent one year in Geneva. She moved to Atlanta, Georgia in her senior year of high school. Brookwood High School was her high school located in Snellville. She competed in track. She studied political science at Georgia State University. She was awed by Marvin Gaye's music as well as the music of Biggie, Prince, Michael Jackson and Chaka Khan. Her influences include Megan Thee Stallion, Cardi B, Nicki Minaj, and Foxy Brown. Rose became famous as the lead actor in Migos music videos, including "Bad and Boujee", which was a hip-hop band. Rose started to appear on Twitch streams with DJ Akademiks an Jamaican-born East Coast Hip Hop commentator. Rose began her career as a musician in September of 2018, after she remixed "On Top" an album from Playboi Cari. Her single "Big Mouth" her popularity grew in 2019. Rose was featured in Cardi B's music video to her single "WAP" on August 7, 2020. A&R Chris Turner signed her to LA Reid's record label Hitco Entertainment in 2019. Rubi is also acknowledged for her high-profile relationships. She has been in relationships with some of the most famous names like Playboi Carti Travis Scott, Ian Connor, 21 Savage, Soulja Boy, Lil Yachty, Takeoff, Lil Tjay and DDG.
